Technical Documentation Specialist Apprentice
Gro, Newtown, Powys, UK 

Role Overview:
The ‘’Technical Documentation Specialist Apprentice’ will work with the ‘Global Technical Support Manager’, Documentation Specialist and Product Support Engineers to ensure Control Techniques product technical documentation meets, and where possible exceeds required standards.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:

Documentation:

Working with the ‘Documentation Specialist’ & ‘Product Support Engineers to:

· Create Technical documentation using Adobe FrameMaker, Coral Draw and Iso draw.

· Working with the ‘Global Technical Support Manager’ and Documentation Specialist to:

· Maintain and improve documentation quality and consistency.

· Prioritize manuals workload.

· Work with external sub-contractor.

· Conform with sign off procedure for Technical manuals

· Organize translations and all appropriate parties (i.e. suppliers and Drive Centre proof readers) to the end of successful production of translated manuals.

· Approve of first off samples from printing suppliers and any associated quality issues

· Promote close working relationship between internal departments to the end of producing and distributing technical documentation.

· Continue to improve skill levels/experience on all aspects of manual creation.

General:

· Support a ‘Technical Support’ environment that can be presented to end customer during visits to Control Techniques headquarters that promotes the pre and after sales service provided by Control Techniques.

· Be an ambassador and brand champion throughout the organisation; be passionate, creative and committed to achieving sales success.

· Be an ambassador for global technical support documentation; strive to add value for the wider organisation and for affiliates, driving marketing excellence across the organization.

· Be a collaborative team member; communicate and listen effectively in the global technical support team, global marketing/commercial team, brand team, local countries and project teams.

· Manage projects and meetings effectively, using authority and influence appropriately and building relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

· English language qualification.

· Minimum GCSE A to C grade, A level or degree.

· Typesetting documents.

· Experience with the following PC Tools preferred: Adobe FrameMaker, Corel draw, MS Visio, Isodraw.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships at all levels.
