Similar entry of otms this week to last week topping at £1554 (184ppkg) for a 840kg Limousin from CV & EM Lewis, Buttington New Hall. A 777kg Simmental cow from AE, M & RG Evans, Dolymaen, made £1165.50 (150ppkg). Heifers under 48 months topped at £954.89 (137ppkg) for a 697kg Charolais from BH Evans & Son, Rowton Grange. EW & NCM Humphreys & Son, Gwernybeilliad, presented a 596kg Limousin heifer making £894 (150ppkg).

CULL SHEEP (3340)
Today saw a great entry of 3300 cull ewes which averaged slightly less ending at £46.29. Ewes peaked at £110 presented by PL, JS & A Howells, Tycam. Continental ewes of excellent fleshing were in strong demand. Well finished mule and Suffolk x ewes also sold well, ranging from £75 - £85. A small entry of rams averaged £75. Grazing type of ewes were in strong demand.

STORE LAMBS (784)
Good entry of store lambs this week topping at £79.50 for 9 strong texel wether lambs from GH & CA Jones & Son, Brynmawr. M H Pugh, Gilfach, presented texel x tup lambs to £72. Theave lambs topped at £61.50 presented 22 Texel x lambs to £61.50.
Averages for the day were:

STORE CATTLE
An entry of 336 store cattle this week seeing averages of 219.78ppkg or £1011.81 for steers, and heifers averaged 210.17ppkg or £908.47.

BREEDING EWES
An entry just shy of 1900 breeding ewes were again met with a mixed trade and the best were keenly sought after , 18 Texel x yearlings from WP Owen, Cefn Uchaf, hit £172. Others from the same home hit £155 and £142. Messrs Davies, Pant Du Farm, sold 30 Texel x yearlings for £151. Local vendors RM Evans , New House, sold 2 pens of 16 for £146 and £145 and RR & CA Jenkins, Moydog Fach, sold Texles for £145 and mules to £132.
Best Welsh Ewes sold to £142 from JF Woosnam & Son, Eisteddle, with the first of the welsh yearling ewes hitting £138 and £140 from RC & ME Jukes, Tynybryn. Mule 2 year old ewes from W Meredith, Maesteg, hit £121, £151 and £102 twice. With 3 year old mules from O LL Jerman & Sons, Tuhwntirafon, hitting £122. Full mouth ewes peaked at £106 and £98 for Blocky Texels from GH & CA Jones, Brynmawr.
