St David’s Day on Llanfair Line

26/02/2019 @ 11:06

The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway is celebrating St David’s Day this Friday by opening the line and holding a number of activities.

It has been a long time since the railway was open on Wales’ National Day, and at Llanfair station there will be activities for children, a Welsh flavour to the Llanfair tearoom menu and an air of celebration around the station.

With the leaves not yet showing on the trees, the beautiful vistas of the Mid Wales countryside that can be seen from the carriages have never been clearer.

All visitors are welcome to dress in national costume, or as a daffodil, a leek or even a dragon! The normal Winter Warm- Up fares will apply - £9 for adults and £4 for children. All trains start and finish in Llanfair Caereinion, travelling as far as Castle Caereinion. Trains depart Llanfair at 11am, 12.45pm and 2.30pm.

If you can’t make Friday, trains also run on Thursday and Saturday. For more information  www.wllr.org.uk or telephone 01938 810441.
