Second bench presented by 1940s to town

The Welshpool 1940s Weekend committee have presented a second bench to the town to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

It will join the previous bench put in place to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The benches can be found in the town's Memorial Garden in Howell Drive near to Maesydre School.

“The committee wish to thank everyone who supported their fund raising efforts for the benches and the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme,” said organiser Alan Crowe.
