Popular local author set for Monty Hour

02/03/2021 @ 10:22

Popular local author Myfanwy Alexander will be Wednesday’s guest on the weekly Monty Hour slot.

Myfanwy, also well known locally as a County Councillor, has published a number of books and stories and has seen many used on BBC Radio.

“Myfanwy will speak about ‘Writing Montgomeryshire: the joys and challenges of telling unknown stories’, so the evening will feature anecdotes from a Montgomeryshire literary life from a born raconteur, best-selling Welsh author, radio personality and County Councillor!” said a spokesperson.

The last Monty Hour of February re-lived Trefoil Guild member Sue Michaels’ 2019 trip to India and the Deep Griha charity in the city of Pune.

Designing the Monty Hour logo

The new Monty Hour logo has been designed by 12-year-old Keri Castrelo-Brignell.

As well as images that represent the town, country, and Monty Hour, Keri has included well-known books, both old and new, like the inspirational I am Malala and Philip Pullman's The Subtle Knife, as she was watching His Dark Materials at the time.

Keri said: “Designing the logo gave me a chance to sit down and be creative, and I enjoyed the task!”
