A Royal thank-you

Residents of the Rhallt Care Home in Welshpool were the toast of Buckingham Palace following their tributes made in the wake of HRH Prince Phillip’s death in April.

Residents joined staff in reminiscing about the Duke of Edinburgh’s life by looking at old photos of him and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth through the years. 

Some shared special memories which were written down and added to a card that was sent to the palace. For the funeral, on April 17, residents paid their respects and The Rhallt flew their flags at half-mast. 

And, yesterday, there was a Royal surprise with residents receiving a card of recognition, sent from Buckingham Palace, thanking everyone for their kind messages of sympathy. 

“Residents and staff were thrilled and this honoured card will be displayed in reception for anyone who would like to see it,” said a spokesperson.
