Members of Year 7 at Welshpool High School have attended two workshops with author Elosie Williams, a former Children’s Laureate Wales and author of several highly acclaimed children’s novels.
The students were joined by Year 5&6 pupils from several cluster primary schools, including Berriew, Buttington-Trewern, Guilsfield, Leighton, Llandysilio and Welshpool Church in Wales schools.
The sessions allowed the children to explore how a writer creates stories and how the smallest details can produce the biggest ideas.
“This memorable experience has given our learners a hugely valuable insight into how to have the confidence to express their ideas and find their creative voices and we look forward to developing the work of our talented young writers,” a school spokesperson told us.
