A new community wellbeing group combining singing, breathing exercises and laughter is launching in Welshpool next week.
Charlotte Woodford, of Smile my Music, is partnering with Arts Connection – Cyswllt Celf to deliver Sing & Laugh for Health, a 10-week series of friendly and accessible sessions designed to support lung health, heart health and overall wellbeing.
The sessions will take place at the Welshpool Community Haven (Ann Holloway Centre) on Monday mornings from March 16 to June 8, from 10am-12pm (excluding bank holidays).
Led by Charlotte, a community choir leader and vocal coach with specialist training in breathing techniques and laughter yoga, the sessions will blend gentle vocal exercises, group singing and social time in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The focus of the group is on wellbeing rather than performance, making it suitable for beginners or those who may feel nervous about singing. No previous singing experience is required.
The sessions are especially beneficial for people living with respiratory conditions, as well as anyone looking to improve their breathing, boost their immune system, support mental health and meet new people.
