Second place with 1,923 points were Afon Hafren. Third with 1,801 points went to Castell Powis house, and in fourth place with 1,679 points were Cadair Idris.

“The standard of participation across the school was excellent, with pupils taking part in stage, musical, and recitation competitions,” a spokesperson said.

“The day was a wonderful celebration of Welsh culture and language, showcasing the talent, effort, and Welsh identity of our pupils.

“Thanks go to our judges, Caitlin Owen, Libby Loxam, Matthew Pawley, Gwen Jones and Gruff Thomas. Our comperes, Mr Arnold and Ms Tibbott, and to all staff and pupils who helped make it a memorable day.”
