Ysgol Llanfyllin pupils came up with a star-studded idea to promote the school to prospective students thinking of attending.
At last week’s well-attended Open Evening, students put together a video that included an impressive alumni that have gone on to become stars of screen and sport as well as prominent members of the community.
Leading the cast was cinematographer Lol Crawley, known for his Oscar-winning work on The Brutalist, who attended Ysgol Llanfyllin in the late 1980s to early 1990s.
Joining him on the role of honour was Robert Lewis, opera singer; Will Evans, professional footballer at Plymouth Argyle; Gethin Bickerton, actor and Deri McCluskey, triathlete. Other past pupils who went on to be Paramedics, teachers, doctors and police officers also featured.
The pupils also pulled together an impressive film designed to give incoming students an exciting insight into what life is like at Ysgol Llanfyllin.
Headteacher, Dewi Owen, said: “It was a brilliant celebration of everything that makes Ysgol Llanfyllin so special.
“As a bilingual, all-age school rooted in the heart of Mid Wales, our strength lies in our pupils and our tight-knit community. The creativity of our current students and the generous contributions from our alumni made the evening truly memorable. We are immensely proud of our pupils past and present, and we look forward to welcoming our new cohort.”
