Powys has been revealed as one the slowest areas in Wales to recover from the astronomical fuel price rises that we all suffered last year.
Following a 20.17% surge in 2022, the average price of fuel stood at a staggering 182.51 pence per litre (PPL). Prices almost reached £2 in the Welshpool area.
This has since decreased by a significant 12.30% to 160.16PPL as of May 2023, according to Moneyzine (https://moneyzine.com/).
The Welshpool area is now seeing prices move towards the 140PPL mark.
It places Powys third from bottom on the list of Welsh counties, with Gwynedd leading the downward slide in prices with 13.43% compared to last year.
Bottom of the pile is Monmouthshire who are only seeing a 11.17% decrease in their pump prices.
