Welshpool Country Music Festival is enjoying a sharp rise in ticket sales compared to last year, but it means that more volunteers are needed to ensure one of the town’s biggest events can go ahead.
The July 17-20 event has released a stellar line-up of acts to mark its 40th year, and 50 years since the charity that it supports – the Heulwen Trust – was created to offer free-of-charge boat trips down the Montgomery Canal for vulnerable and less abled adults and children.
It attracts a huge number of visitors from across the UK and this weekend the organisers are reporting a whopping 20% increase in ticket sales already.
“We really need some kind folks out there who can give us some of their time between Thursday, 17th to Sunday, 20th July,” a spokesperson for the Trust told us.
“Anything from three hours to any full day or more. We need help with directing vehicles to parking, being a visible member of our team, helping with our grand draw and show guide sales.
“Other opportunities are assembly and disassembly of show equipment, marquees, show signs etc.
“All volunteers will be thanked with free access to the show plus refreshments while working. We would love to build a cooperative enthusiastic team to help our visitors enjoy their day out and most important of all help raise funds to keep our narrow boats afloat for years to come.”
