Medical Centre says staff abuse is “unacceptable”

Another warning has been issued to patients that abuse members of staff at Welshpool Medical Practice following more incidents this week.

In a statement following the latest problems caused by patients, the practice said that its zero-tolerance policy towards will results in the offenders potentially being removed from the practice list.

No details of the latest incidents have been shared, but the doctors have had enough.

“Our practice team works hard every day to deliver the best service we can offer, within the resources available to us,” the Medical Centre stated.

“Unfortunately, this week we have recently experienced incidents of rude, aggressive and abusive behaviour towards our staff. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Any form of verbal abuse, aggression, harassment, or violence towards our team may result in a written warning, restriction of services and, in serious cases, removal from the practice list.

“Our staff deserve to be treated with the same respect and kindness that we show to you. Let’s work together to keep the practice a safe and supportive place for all patients registered at Welshpool Medical Practice / Guilsfield Surgery.”

The statement was signed off by Drs Russell, Aslam, Vibhishanan, Kelly, Kingham and Hirons.
