A club that was at the heart of the Welshpool Community for almost a century before disbanding earlier this year is set to make a rapid return!
Welshpool Women’s Institute was left with no choice but to fold in May due to dwindling numbers, ending decades of service to the town and bringing ladies from all backgrounds together.
But in a positive update over the weekend, the regional office has reported that a meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 23, in the Methodist Church Hall at 7pm.
“It’s a very positive development as three ladies, reasonably new to the area, are willing to take on the officer roles and are very keen that ladies should join them for friendship and fun!” a spokesperson for the regional office told us.
“All will be welcome - the WI offers 11 monthly meetings, eight copies of WI Life magazine, opportunities to join in many activities and to campaign on important issues, as well as free access to online courses via the WI Learning Hub.”
