Details confirmed for Welshpool Winter Festival

The sprinkling of snow on the local hilltops and the site of gritters out on the roads have been timely precursors to the Welshpool Winter Festival which will be held on Saturday, November 29, from 1pm-6pm.

Welshpool Town Council promise that next week’s event will be “bigger, brighter and more magical than ever”.

Visitors can expect a range of food and craft stalls, offering everything from delicious seasonal treats to unique handmade gifts and there will be more Christmas craft stalls inside the Indoor Market.

Children will meet the friendly animals at the petting zoo, and visitors of all ages can enjoy a packed stage programme of music and festive entertainment throughout the afternoon.

The event line-up is:

• 1pm – Event opened by the Mayor of Welshpool
• 2pm – Ysgol Gymraeg Y Trallwng choir
• 2.30pm – Winter Festival Choir
• 3pm – Salopian Brass Band
• 3.45pm – Angel Voice UK singers
• 4.15pm – Winter Festival Choir
• 4.45pm – Salopian Brass Band
• 5pm – Christmas lights switch-on

A special highlight for little ones is a visit to Santa’s Grotto in the Corn Exchange, where every child will receive a free gift from Santa himself.

Everyone is welcome – admission is free.
