In the third and final part of our series looking at the potential seismic changes to post-16 education in Powys, we visited Welshpool High School which is in real danger of losing its sixth form.
Powys County Council wants to see A-level results improve and students remain in the county to study, so is proposing a sixth form hub in Newtown as one of its ideas.
But Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin and Welshpool have teamed up to offer what they believe is a more viable alternative. Will it convince the education chiefs?
