She had us all glued to our TV screens and on the edge of our seats last month, and now Adele Nicoll will be opening up about her life story at a special one-off event at the Town Hall on Friday, May 8.

An Evening With Adele Nicoll is being organised by Adrenalin Sporting Events, who are behind successful events like the Welshpool and Newtown 10ks and ‘An Evening With’ events with the likes of Steve Cram, Alistair Brownlee and Dame Laura Kenny.

But this is set to be one of their most in-demand events yet with the Team GB bobsleigh member and multiple British shot put champion ‘coming home’ for an evening to remember.

The 29-year-old will be sitting down with MyWelshpool co-founder David Williams to share her journey from the playing fields of Maesydre to the biggest stage of them all – the Winter Olympics.

“Adrenaline Sporting Events are absolutely thrilled to bring this unique event to Welshpool and Mid Wales,” said the company’s Alan Lewis.

“Having an evening with a local Olympian is a privilege, and we can’t wait to hear how Adele has achieved so much on the World Stage.

“Previously we have brought in so many stars including Alistair Brownlee, Dame Laura Kenny, Eilish McColgan, and Steve Cram, but this is a bit more special because Adele is from the area and is personally known by so many people. It promises to be a really inspiring evening.”

Tickets are limited and have gone on sale through the Adrenaline Sporting Events’ official web site here.

The format of the evening will be around 90 minutes of Adele sharing her journey and experiences, before there will be an opportunity for questions to be asked from the audience, followed by photographs.

Adele became the first British athlete to compete in the Monobob at the Winter Olympics last month, and then performend magnificently in the 2-woman bobsleigh events. This summer she is aiming for a Team Wales place in the Commonwealth Games for shot put in Glasgow.
