Mayor claims town’s dog mess is getting worse
Cllr Rowell was reporting back to his fellow town councillors at the monthly full meeting, and said he had been continuing his regular litter picks but had noticed a worrying increase in dog mess.
“I know lots of responsible dog owners who always clean up after their pets,” said Cllr Rowell. “But shame on the few that don’t and blacken the reputations of those who do.
“They have been a bit more in evidence since the beginning of this year and in particular over the past few weeks. It’s just something that I want to get off my chest.”
Cllr Rowell also has the town’s litter louts in his sights and took aim at one rogue resident who appeared to have dropped a trail of litter the morning after he had carried out a litter pick.
Overall though, Cllr Rowell said he was enjoying his role and added: “One month in though I am enjoying it and will big up the town whenever I can.”
