Man charged with Welshpool murder as victim is named

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Welshpool town centre in the early hours of Sunday.

Martin Slezak, of Stanley Street, Welshpool, has been charged with the murder of 49-year-old Young John Mongan, from Walsall.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in court on Tuesday.

Dyfed-Powys Police would like to thank all those who have assisted with the investigation so far.
