Live airbrushing event

The winning designs of an art competition are to be airbrushed on to two Ford Fiesta cars at a day-long event being held at Greenhouse Ford dealership in Newtown on Saturday.

The event, from 10am-5pm, will see two airbrush artists undertaking the work in front of the public as part of the event in Pool Road.

The former WR Davies dealership was acquired by the Greenhous Group last month.

A Greenhous spokesperson said: “Lee Morgan, who works for the dealership, is an artist living in Welshpool. Lee specialises in airbrush artwork and is presently doing airbrush work on all types of surfaces.

“Cars and motorbikes are his specialities with rocker covers, helmets, panels etc. a small part of his extensive range.

“Lee says he can airbrush on almost any surface large or small customising articles to the owners design, or he will suggest designs.”

He added: "Lee will be teaming up with fellow artist, Sammy Cave from Re Born to be Wild, to airbrush two Ford Fiesta bonnets.

“The designs for the bonnets were selected from a public competition and you can see the designs come to life on Saturday.”

Lee and Sammy will explain the techniques they employ to produce this special type of artwork.

One of the bonnets will be offered as a prize (names in a box on site).

The second bonnet will be offered for sale, either on site or via an auction site, with proceeds going to a charity.

The event is free for the public to attend.
