College holding an open day

26/01/2011 @ 06:34

Coleg Powys will be opening its doors on Saturday to give potential students the opportunity to see what's on offer.

Students will get the chance to see the wide range of courses that are on offer from September 2011, to have a look around the College and speak to
lecturers.

The College will be open from 9am to 12pm across all sites - Newtown,  Brecon, Llandrindod Wells and Ystradgynlais.

The day will be of particular interest to school leavers, but will also give Year 9 students the chance to find out about the vocational options that they can do alongside their GCSE subjects. In addition, adult learners can find out about the education and training opportunities available to them.

For further information about this event please call 0845 4086 200.

Coleg Powys is the sole further education establishment in Powys, having been formed in 1989 from an amalgamation of colleges in Brecon, Llandrindod Wells and Newtown.

In 2009/10 the college supported over 8,000 individual learners to obtain qualifications in a wide range of academic and vocational subjects.

Coleg Powys is one of the largest employers in Powys and is ranked as one of the top further education institutions in Wales in respect of its
organisational, financial and quality standards.
