Dog killed in alleged hit and run

18/09/2017 @ 08:15

A community has been outraged following what appears to have been a callous hit and run in Four Crosses on Saturday morning.

MyWelshpool is awaiting clarification from the local police, but we do know that a dog walker was involved in an incident with a small white van in the Foxen Manor area of the village which resulted in her dog being struck.

Incredibly, it is alleged that the van then reversed and hit the dog again which unfortunately passed away at the local vets a short time later. It has left the owner heartbroken.

The incident was revealed by Facebook user @SianHarrisonYale who posted:

“Yesterday (Saturday) a friend of mine was walking her dog on Foxen Manor when a small white van going way too fast clipped her poor dog then reversed back and hit her again. The van did not stop, just carried on!

“My friend carried her beloved dying dog to our house and my husband and I took her and her dog to the vets. Sadly, there was nothing they could do and she passed away.

“If you know anyone that saw anything between 10.45am and 11.15am yesterday morning, had a visit from someone in a small white van or a parcel delivery please get in touch. It has been reported to the police and they have taken the matter very seriously.

“My friend as you can imagine is devastated, her dog was everything to her.”

If you have information, contact the police on 101.
