The problem of sheep trampling over gravestones and eating flowers left by family members appears to have been solved.
The Town Council stepped forward to help following the outrage shown by relatives who were shocked to also see droppings were strewn across the graveyard at Maesygwastad by the stray Sheep.
“We were contacted by Powys County Council to help out so we sent up a team to install a barrier across a broken five-bar gate which the sheep were coming through from the adjoining field,” said Town Clerk, Robert Robinson.
“It is easy to understand why people were so upset, so it was the least we could do to help clear up the problem as soon as we could. It was a good team effort.”
