Last few tickets for New Year party

The last few remaining tickets for the annual Senior Citizens New Year Party at Welshpool Town Hall are available from Welshpool Jewellers or Flaunt It Card Shop.

The party is open to anyone over the age of 60 and will be held on January 30 at 2pm, with doors open at 1.30pm.

Three top acts will make up the star studded entertainment including celebrity guests hosted by local personality Alan Crowe (Ala Cra), which will be followed by a buffet and bumper raffle.

Celebrity guests in the past have included - comedians Jimmy Cricket, Stu Francis, Freddie Parrot Face Davies, Berni Flint and Don Maclean; Welsh songbird Tammy Jones, soap star Vince Earl (Brookside); presenter Paul Hayes (Cash in the attic) and boxer John H Stracey.

The organisers express their sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Welshpool who have kindly sponsored the cost of hiring the town hall for the event.

Also in attendance will be Mid Wales beauty queen Beverley Roberts who since being invited a number of years ago has become a regular supporter.
