Small charity grants available

30/01/2018 @ 10:19

Hanfod Cymru is accepting a new round of applications from charities across the area for small grants of up to £10,000.

The applications can be for projects or activities taking place in the areas of culture and art, education or social welfare. The application for a grant can be for any activity within these areas, as long as it is beyond the statutory field.

Hanfod Cymru Chief Executive, Siôn Brynach, said: “We were amazed by the number and high quality of the applications we received in the first two rounds of applications for grants during 2017. We very much hope that this third round will attract applications of the same standard.

“Charities have until St David’s Day, 1 March, to present an application, and the announcement regarding which charities the Hanfod Cymru Board wish to support will be published towards the end of April. I hope that the announcement on funding will be a boost for a number of charities from all parts of Wales.”

Hanfod Cymru was established to distribute the money raised for good causes by Loteri Cymru. A minimum of 20% of Loteri Cymru gross ticket sale proceeds is being channelled to good causes in Wales through the charity.

Hanfod Cymru operates independently and has its own Board of Trustees, which operates independently of Loteri Cymru, which oversees the weekly draw.
