It’s going to the wire!

Welshpool Ladies Hockey Club is going into a nail-biting final three games of the North Wales season, knowing they have to pick up at least a win for survival.

On Saturday, they gave themselves some hope with a 1-1 draw against Llanfair, leaving three massive games to pull themselves off the bottom.

This weekend they face Dysynni, but the real fight comes on February 24 when they entertain the team a point above them, Ruthin. The season finale follows against Newtown.

“We know it's a big fight left to have, and we have confidence we can pull off the great escape!” said Gez Charles. “But there have been some fantastic teamwork and skills on show, we just can't quite get the results we need!”

The big match against Ruthin in two weeks will get underway at 10.30pm when it hoped a big crowd will come out in support.
