And there’s more…

Hot on the heels of reporting more town centre misery for local businesses this morning, unfortunately another property was hit by mindless vandals.

A huge window at the former Rowlands Pharmacy was smashed over the weekend, the latest in a long line of incidents hitting the town centre over the past week.

But on Sunday night a number of windows were broken at Great Escape beauty salon, spa and gym, with the idiot responsible leaving behind a trail of blood.

The business believes the person responsible has probably been captured on their CCTV system.

“We have cameras so hopefully we will see who has done it,” said Stacey Greatorex.

“The windows broken are stained glass windows that have been there since the Art Deco building was built. It is the second time this has happened; the first time was our first day of opening. “Businesses work so hard to make a better life for themselves, and selfish people do this, it’s such a shame, fingers crossed we find the culprit.

“The culprit will have cuts over his hand, we think it happened Sunday night, so if anyone knows anything please contact the police.”

A number of break-ins occurred last week, the latest two being Lads and Dads hairdressers where £300 of equipment was taken, and BJ’s Electrical on Wednesday night.

A 31-year-old has been arrested and questioned in connection with the burglaries which followed others at hairdressers in the town earlier in the week.

If you have any information, call the police on 101.
