Glyn Davies, Montgomeryshire MP, recently joined the local Parkinson’s branch at their AGM in honouring local man Trefor Pugh.
Trefor, a former athlete and PE Teacher within the area, has written a book about his life entitled A Marathon Journey. Trefor suffers with Parkinson’s disease, and all the proceeds will go to people living with the condition.
Glyn, who is President of the Montgomeryshire Parkinson’s branch, said: “I have known Trefor for 50 years. He has been a great sportsman, excelling at football and athletics. He has also had a long career as a school teacher, both abroad and around Mid Wales and Shropshire. He has now added writing to his wide range of achievement.
“The Marathon Journey is well worth a read, and all money raised from the story of Trefor’s life will go to support others who are living with Parkinson’s. It was a great pleasure for me to be involved in the presentation of recognition of Trefor’s commitment to helping others. He is a very special Montgomeryshire man, and I’m honoured that I can call him a friend.
“Anyone wanting to buy his book (by donation) can contact my office on 01938 552315.”
