Elderly pedestrian killed after being hit by van

A female pedestrian has died after being struck by a van on Saturday in Churchstoke.

It is believed that the 79-year-old died at the scene with police saying there had been a collision with a Ford Transit van near the former Harry Tuffins.

The road was closed for most of Saturday as a result of the accident at about 11.30am, with diversions put in place.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the 79-year-old woman who died,” said a Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson. "Anyone with information is asked to report it to Powys Roads Policing Unit by calling 101. Reference: DP-20180915-124."
