Two more drug dealers jailed

Two more drug gang members have been jailed for more than 12 years between them for flooding a huge area, including Welshpool, with cocaine.

Following a painstaking five-year investigation, Benjamin Brown, aged 34, and 29-year-old Nathan Davis were jailed for seven and five years respectively after a huge operation seized more than £200,000 worth of cocaine from the gang.

A 15-strong group – including four women - had already been sentenced at Stafford Crown Court in December last year to a total of 50 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine as part of the same police operation.

The investigation into the group, which was led by the three Saeed brothers from Wolverhampton – Abdul, Mohammed and Shabaz – took almost five years to build from initial arrests and involved huge amounts of data, including the analysis of 132 mobile phones seized.

Officers also seized almost £40,000 in cash during the blitz. The criminal activity took place between January 1, 2013, and January 1, 2015.

Arrests were made after warrants were executed and cars stopped in Cannock, Stoke-on-Trent and Welshpool.

Officers stopped an Alfa Romeo on January 17, 2014, at Beau Court in Cannock. Brown was in the car with three other men and cash and cocaine were seized.

Davis was arrested in 2015 following forensic evidence linking him to the conspiracy and the supply of and control of the cocaine.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Bentley, of Staffordshire Police, said: “This was an exceptionally challenging and complex case to build so we’re glad it has reached its conclusion.

“Despite the complexity and challenges such cases bring we hope these sentences deliver a clear message: We will bring those who deal drugs and spread misery in our communities to justice.”
