Overnight fire drama on Borfa Green

A huge fire has destroyed a shed and caused minor damage to a house on Borfa Green this morning.

Thanks to the lightning quick reaction of Welshpool fire fighters, the huge blaze was brought under control before it had the opportunity to cause more extensive damage.

One eye witness told us: “There was a lot of damage done to the garden and a bit to the house but nothing major. It seems the garden shed caught fire at about 1am. Well done to Welshpool Fire Brigade who were there in minutes.”

Welshpool Fire Station said this morning: “We were mobilised at 12.45am to a large fire involving a shed and hedgerow causing damage to nearby property in the Borfa Green area.”

No casualties have been reported.
