Serious landslide blocks the A490 - diversions in place

Police and Rescue Services are at the scene of a landslide which has tonight closed the A490 at Pentrebeirdd near Welshpool.

The landslide has occurred between the A495 junction and Pentrebeirdd near to the Valley View Holiday Park (now known as Brightwater Lakes), following heavy rain which has brought flooding to large areas around Welshpool.

The incident is bad news for motorists with to road totally blocked and Powys County Council Highways Division setting up diversions.
