A grand win!

They won’t be giving up their day jobs, but several residents in Forden have had a grand start to 2020!

Nine people from the village are celebrating after winning £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode. 

The neighbours netted the windfall when SY21 8LT was announced today (Friday) as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson (pictured) sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: “I can’t think of better way to start the weekend! Congratulations to our winners in Forden, I’m sure they’ll be celebrating tonight.”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by the Wildlife Trusts which have received over £10.7 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The trusts run around 10,000 wildlife events each year and work to make sure that everyone has access to wildlife and nature in their daily lives.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support. The next opportunity local charities will have to apply for funding will be January 21.
