Dozens of bouquets left on Guilsfield doorsteps

The smiles returned to many people’s faces in Guilsfield on Tuesday night when dozens of bouquets of flowers were randomly dropped off on their doorsteps.

Pictures started appearing on Facebook of flowers with many wondering how and who had deposited them.

MyWelshpool has caught up with the person who was carrying out the random act of kindness and he modestly said it was just a few minutes of his time to try and cheer up his fellow village residents.

Dylan Bellamy and his colleagues at Marks & Spencers in Oswestry decided that, following a quiet Mother’s Day on Sunday, they decided to put the excess stock to good use.

“Myself and my family genuinely feel incredibly fortunate to live in the village and this is just about giving something back, as there are lots of people doing brilliant things at the moment and we're just trying to do our little bit,” said Dylan.

“In store we were giving some flowers to blue card holders as a thank-you during our trading hour for the public services but we still had loads left. So as a team we decided at the end of the day (on our way home) to give random acts of kindness (safely) to the communities we live in.”

Dylan, who has lived in Guilsfield for six years, said that he randomly dropped off about 30 bunches to properties across the village, and hasn’t ruled out continuing in the coming days.
