Jewellery find on canal walk

A man walking along the canal at Welshpool this morning came across a surprise find, a jewellery case containing golden ear rings, necklaces as well as pieces from costumes.

Jeremy Taylor said he fished the small case out of the canal and was shocked to find the treasure trove inside.

He contacted police on 101, but said he gave up after being put on hold for some time and is hoping the power of MyWelshpool can reunite the items with their owner.

“I can’t help but think somebody has lost it or, worse, it is the result of a burglary,” Jeremy told us. “I would love to reunite it with the owner.”
