Farewell our friend

He’s brought smiles and his unique brand of sunshine into Welshpool nearly every day for the past three years, but despite a huge public campaign to try and keep him, Charanjit Singh has been transferred to a new route.

The DPD driver has been a breath of fresh air for the area, cheering us all up with his charm and kindness as he went about his daily round.

But, despite a petition with hundreds of signatures and local residents bombarding the company with emails pleading with them to let him stay on the Welshpool round, DPD’s press office delivered the bad news this morning.

“I’ve spoken to the depot and I’m afraid Charanjit will be moving routes due to operational reasons,” they told us.

Maybe we’ll see him back one day but, for now, farewell our friend.
