WARNING: Dog snatchers could be out there

Residents in the Welshpool area have been warned to keep their pet dogs safe around fears that thieves are working the area again.

One Welshpool home has had white chalk daubed on brickwork alongside the front door which the occupants believe was to signify that dogs were being kept there.

And in another report a white van or camper van has been spotted cruising around estates prompting fears that dog snatchers are working the area again.

Dyfed Powys Police have been informed.

There have been numerous cases of dogs going missing in Mid Wales over recent months and only last month police carried out a raid at a Carmarthen premises which revealed dozens of stolen dogs.
