‘Shocking parking’ prevents bin collections

Inconsiderate parkers are preventing some bins from being collected, with Powys County Council’s Waste & Recycling Service claiming that they are also a threat to lives.

Complaints were made by some residents last week that their bins were not collected, so the service issued a statement to explain, posting this picture.

“Apologies to anyone who didn’t have their bin collected last week,” they stated. “The shocking parking on some of the junctions in our towns made it impossible for the collection vehicles to get through.

“Good job we were only driving a bin lorry and not a fire engine! Please park responsibly.”
