Village gets tough on dog foulers

A village council has warned rogue dog owners that their time is up and they will clamp down on the growing issue of them not picking up after their pets.

Trewern Community Council has said that it will increase CCTV usage at the school to catch the culprits after a rise in the amount of mess being left on and around the school grounds and paths.

“It has been brought to our attention that there has recently been a lot of dog mess around the grounds of Buttington Trewern CP School and the Community Centre,” the council said in a statement.

“This is a major health issue, especially to the children who attend the school and are regularly playing in that area.

“We do have CCTV at the school and we are also increasing the number of cameras in that vicinity, as well as increasing the monitoring of the CCTV. If anyone is caught not cleaning up after their dog, we will report you and we ask that if you do see anyone offending, please report it at the following link… https://en.powys.gov.uk/article/4511/Report-dog-fouling."
