Police appeal for witnesses to sexual assault and stalking

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for information over allegations of sexual assault and stalking involving two young women in Welshpool on the evening of Friday, October 1.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information that could help their investigation after a report of a male approaching a teenage girl on the canal path, near the Morrison’s car park, and sexually assaulting her.

He is also alleged to have followed her to the Bron Gungrog area between 7.30pm and 8pm.

Officers then received a second report of a man approaching a woman shortly after, near the Applegreen Garage, when he made some unsolicited comments.

The woman has reported that the male followed her to Salop Road, Welshpool.

As part of the investigation a man has been charged and remanded into custody.
