Photography competition will showcase the town

Welshpool Town Council said that it received a fantastic response to a photo competition it recently held, with over 70 entries were received.

The winning photos, yet to be confirmed, will be featured on the website, which is expected to go live next month with the web designers putting together the final pages.

“We have been absolutely delighted with the number and quality of the photos submitted.” said Alison Davies, Town Mayor,

“Selecting the winning photos was a hard job, we have tried to find images that are a little different, but also gave a good impression of the Welshpool we all know and love.

“What we have also realised is that, not only do we have great photographers in our midst, but also we need to be able to show Welshpool through the seasons, so we’d like to ring the changes throughout the year.”

The Town Council expects to run future photographic competitions, with the winning entries featured on the website.
