Our Adele is off to the Winter Olympics in Beijing
She’s already the toast of Welshpool but now Adele Nicoll is the toast of the United Kingdom after qualifying for the Winter Olympics.
Having already qualified to represent Wales in the Shot putt at this summer’s Commonwealth Games Adele this morning secured her Olympics place in the bobsleigh two-woman event.
Adele, brakewoman for pilot Mica McNeill in Team DHL, was hoping to make the mark at the final event of the World Cup season in St Moritz, Switzerland, which doubles up as the European Championship – and the pair didn’t disappoint.
The pair needed to finish in the top 12 to secure their Winter Olympics place and were celebrating after securing 11th position and seventh European finish.
Mica and Adele (pictured) secured a remarkable silver medal earlier this month at the Sigulda round and arrived in Switzerland feeling confident of qualifying for Beijing 1022.
