Welshpool WI launches drive for new members

Welshpool Women’s Institute has launched a recruitment campaign as numbers have dwindled through the pandemic.

The group meets every second Friday of the month at the Methodist School Room on the High Street from 2pm, and said that a warm welcome awaits anyone wanting to get involved.

Posters have been put up around the town, and a spokesperson told us: “Welshpool WI is always happy to welcome new members. You don't have to be good at crafting but if you fancy an afternoon with a great bunch of ladies with speakers covering a variety of topics, outings and loads of friendship and support then please come along and join us.”

In December last year, the group celebrated its 90th anniversary with a meal at the Raven (pictured).
