Christmas Lights switch-on details released
Last night’s Events & Tourism Committee meeting confirmed that street stalls will be out from 3pm-7pm along the High Street, with the usual town hall market also open with more stalls to be located in the Corn Exchange.
Santa Claus will be in the market from 3pm-5.30pm, and will return again after the lights are on until 7pm. Puzzle Square will be holding activities until 4pm while there will also be reindeer and miniature donkeys in the town centre.
The stage by the Town Hall will host singing school children, along with other acts including the Penybontfawr Male Voice Choir.
The lights will be turned on at 6pm, with a procession leaving the Tourist Information Centre from 5.40pm featuring Santa, Mrs Santa, the Carnival Queen and the winner of the design a Christmas light competition.
They will all be on the stage with the Mayor to turn on the lights.
