An update has reached us this evening that the long-awaited arrival of the diesel locomotive from Taiwan won’t be happening tomorrow after all.
True to local railways form, the DL-34 being loaned to the Llanfair and Welshpool Railway by the Alishan Forest Railway in Taiwan is running late due to weather, and won’t be coming on Friday.
It was due to come through Welshpool in the morning en route to being unloaded at Llanfair station. But that will be happening now on another day to be confirmed.
It should have landed in Liverpool Docks on New Year’s Day, but bad weather delayed its arrival. It is being transported to Montgomeryshire on a low-loader.
