A shortage of dentists is having a “significant impact at our practice in Welshpool” according to a spokesperson for {my}dentist after unofficial reports that just two are operating from its practice in town.
Patients have been in touch with us over the past couple of weeks, after hearing that another dentist has left the practice which has been beset by access issues before with appointments cancelled and new patients unable to book in.
And today the national chain has confirmed that it is facing serious challenges, which are not just restricted to Welshpool.
A spokesperson for {my}dentist said: “There is an acute shortage of NHS dentists across the UK and, in common with many practices in Wales, this is having a significant impact at our practice in Welshpool.
“While we continue to actively recruit new clinicians to join our team, the practice is operating with a reduced number of NHS dentists.
“Despite these challenging circumstances, we would like to reassure patients that our practice team is working hard to treat as many patients as possible.”
