A second by-election in just over two months will be held in Welshpool next month after enough interest for a contest was registered by voters.
Following Cllr Julie Arnold’s resignation earlier this summer due to her new job in south west England, residents on the Castle Ward will head to the polls on September 21, should more than one person come forward.
An election is called when enough letters are received by County Hall from members of the Ward to hold one, and it follows another election held earlier in the summer when a healthy number of people turned out to elect Cllr Billy Spencer to office.
If you want to be nominated, you have until 4pm this Thursday (August 24) to register.
