Welshpool secures big event for 2024

The organisers of the Welshpool 10k have confirmed that they have been successful in securing another big event for the town in 2024.

Powis Castle has been confirmed as the venue for the Thunder Run 24, the ‘original’ 24-hour trail running race that will attract competitors from across the UK.

The event has been based in Staffordshire for the past 14 years, but Adrenaline Sporting Events will be bringing it here from July 12-14.

“We are delighted to be able to bring this opportunity to take part in a truly iconic challenge,” said Alan Lewis, from Adrenaline Sporting Events.

“You can either run solo, or be part of a relay team to complete as many laps as you can within a day and night.”

Mr Lewis said the event will bring with it a “whole weekend on site with an incredible inclusive atmosphere, amazing support and great facilities”.

“That's all topped off with a legendary family friendly festival vibe and plenty of extra entertainments and activities, which makes TR24 a must do event in your Summer of running.”
