Rotary Club of Welshpool met on Wednesday to decide their new President for the coming year.
But before official business was conducted at the Royal Oak Hotel, members paid a silent tribute to Tim Platt, a former honorary member, who had recently died.
The appointment of William Rowell as President for 2025/6 was ratified, with Richard White nominated and approved as Vice President.
Meanwhile, the Handover and Club Assembly was be attended by the new AG of 1180, Hilary Murray. Wendy Beaven remains as Secretary and Treasurer. Jeff Davies takes on Foundation, with all other positions remaining the same.
The Retiring President of The Inner Wheel Club of Welshpool installed Wendy Beaven as President for 25/26.
At the Handover meeting at the Wynnstay Hotel Oswestry, Margaret Pepper was appointed Vice President. Sue Williams remains as secretary.
Wendy thanked the Retiring President for her diligence in the role during her term of office, and thanked members for their support and friendship.
“Friendship and service are of paramount to the work that Inner Wheel achieves in private and in the community, and the Welshpool Club is a shining example by the support that it gives its members,” a club spokesperson said.
The programme for the coming year will be announced at the next meeting which will be at the Royal Oak Hotel on July 15 when the guest speaker will be Dianne Norell.
