Man charged following Morrisons carpark robbery attempt

A man has been charged following the report of an attempted robbery outside Morrisons in Welshpool on Tuesday.

Earlier today, we reported that an attempted snatch of car keys took place around 7.20pm, but the owner managed to fight off the attacker.

And this afternoon, Jonathan Griffiths (also known as Peter Gould) from the Wrexham area, has been charged with assault with intent to commit robbery.

The 45-year-old has been remanded into custody until his hearing at Mold Crown Court on Friday, October 3.
